Microsoft Word (Intermediate Skills)  

A critical core competency for any employee involved in administrative processes is the ability to deliver sensitive information in a digital format, through programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. The intermediate-level content of this Microsoft Word training session will allow for learners to better perform their workplace tasks and translate into higher quality work being produced for their employer and customers.

Topics covered in this course include:

- Applying, creating, modifying, and copying styles
- Creating and changing templates in a document
- Creating a document with an installed template
- Applying a watermark to a document
- Inserting a photo, ClipArt object, or shape in a document
- Creating, inserting, and editing columns in a document
- Running and recording simple macros
- Pasting and embedding Excel worksheets in a document
- Using SUM, MAX, MIN, and COUNT functions
- Creating and resizing tables / nested tables
- Creating and modifying cell borders and shading
- Inserting and deleting section breaks
- Adding and removing headers, footers, and page numbers
- Creating and removing cover pages

Please note: Montclair State University will not be providing downloads of Microsoft Word to learners during this course.
